P.s- There's supposed to be a snowstorm tomorrow. Hopefully classes are cancelled!

Spring Break

I love the beach and with spring break just around the corner its time for me to start looking at swimsuits! Target and Forever 21 have some really great swimsuits for affordable prices. I love bold prints and mismatching tops and bottoms for an effortlessly cool look. Last year I went to Puerto Rico and had a blast:

This year I am definitely trying to go someplace warm to get away from the dreary Boston weather. That being said its time to hit the gym! Whenever I need a little "beach body inspiration" I look at this pic of Rihanna. Love it!

Serena's Glam Slam

Serena Williams has teamed up with OPI to create a line of nail polishes called "Serena's Glam Slam." My favorite polish is called Black Shatter. You can paint it over any nail color and it will crack to create an abstract print. I am so impressed that I might order a bottle right now! Here are some pictures and a video tutorial on how to use the polish:

Airport Style

This morning I had an eight am flight to Boston and all I really wanted to do was roll into the airport with my sweats, sneakers, and eyeglasses. I just wanted to be comfortable! I think it is completely unrealistic when I see celebrities wearing leather leggings, thigh high stilettos boots, bustiers, and other random outfit choices on an eight hour flight (although if you can do that and still be comfortable then more power to you). There is a way to be comfy at the airport without looking like you just rolled out of bed. Loose layers, leggings/comfy jeans, and an oversized bag always make for a chic flight ensemble. Here are a few photos for inspiration!

Bang Theory

I had bangs last summer and I loved them, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to get them again this year. After seeing this picture of Rihanna I have made up my mind. I love the stick straight look with the blunt bangs. I cant wait to try this sharper hairstyle (although mine probably won't be fire engine red). It will be a nice change from my usual wavy look. Every year is about reinventing yourself. How will you all be changing your look this year?

Oh Yes!

A friend of mine named Eric recently made his first video for his upcoming mixtape. Its a chill track with a positive message. Check it out and support and upcoming artist!

Flower Power

I actually love anything floral. This summer I almost had to put myself in floral print rehab! I got this dress two summers ago at Urban Outfitters, but it actually is the perfect fall/winter piece because it looks great with tights, boots, and a comfy sweater.

Also check out my new boots from Steve Madden. I got them while shopping in Georgetown with fellow blogger ChellyWellz. I love them because they are so classic and versatile.

Allow Her to Reintroduce Herself...

Raven Symone has always been a beautiful woman, but recently she has been KILLING the game. She looks fab with her new weight loss, but most importantly she lost weight for the right reasons. In a recent interview Raven said that she began to lose weight when she let go of the stress in her life and became more happy. Losing weight is always at the top of everyone's new years resolutions (even mine) but we must make sure that we do not lose sight of ourselves and what is right for us. Instead of obsessing over a specific number to lose, try to make an overall goal of taking the appropriate steps to being more healthy. By doing this, you can let go of the stress, disappointment, and backwards spiral that sometimes accompanies weight loss and just focus on being a fabulous new you. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Dress for the Occasion

I wore this outfit to a club in D.C. It was freezing that night so I opted for leggings instead of a skirt. I really love pairing anything red with a leopard print. It makes an outfit pop.

New Years Eve

I wore this outfit to a lounge called Urbana here in D.C. It has a really laid back vibe so I didn't want to be too overdressed. I paired these workman boots with one of my favorite loose sweaters from Urban Outfitters.

This is one of my everyday outfits that I wore while baking holiday cookies with my friends. These combat boots are so comfy and I wear them ALL the time. This day I paired them with an olive sweater from Urban Outfitters and dark-washed jeggings.

Cleaning Up My Act

After looking at pictures of Audrey Hepburn's effortless style in the 50's, I realized today that I do not own one pair of flats! I always thought flats were so awkward, especially going to school in Boston there just never seemed to be "perfect flat weather." I used to overthink so much about when would be the perfect time to wear them that I just ended up never wearing them at all. But, the new year has given me a new outlook. There is never going to be a literal "perfect time" to wear something. The right time comes with confidence, and if you are confident then every time you wear an outfit will be the perfect time. I will no longer worry about what people are going to think about an outfit, and just wear it because it makes me happy. Fashion, after all, is an expression of self. So one of the first things I am going to do this year is buy a super cute pair of flats (those Chanel ones are amazing)and wear them whenever I want. Hope everyone had a great new years eve and happy new year to you all!
