Flower Power

I actually love anything floral. This summer I almost had to put myself in floral print rehab! I got this dress two summers ago at Urban Outfitters, but it actually is the perfect fall/winter piece because it looks great with tights, boots, and a comfy sweater.

Also check out my new boots from Steve Madden. I got them while shopping in Georgetown with fellow blogger ChellyWellz. I love them because they are so classic and versatile.

Allow Her to Reintroduce Herself...

Raven Symone has always been a beautiful woman, but recently she has been KILLING the game. She looks fab with her new weight loss, but most importantly she lost weight for the right reasons. In a recent interview Raven said that she began to lose weight when she let go of the stress in her life and became more happy. Losing weight is always at the top of everyone's new years resolutions (even mine) but we must make sure that we do not lose sight of ourselves and what is right for us. Instead of obsessing over a specific number to lose, try to make an overall goal of taking the appropriate steps to being more healthy. By doing this, you can let go of the stress, disappointment, and backwards spiral that sometimes accompanies weight loss and just focus on being a fabulous new you. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Dress for the Occasion

I wore this outfit to a club in D.C. It was freezing that night so I opted for leggings instead of a skirt. I really love pairing anything red with a leopard print. It makes an outfit pop.

New Years Eve

I wore this outfit to a lounge called Urbana here in D.C. It has a really laid back vibe so I didn't want to be too overdressed. I paired these workman boots with one of my favorite loose sweaters from Urban Outfitters.

This is one of my everyday outfits that I wore while baking holiday cookies with my friends. These combat boots are so comfy and I wear them ALL the time. This day I paired them with an olive sweater from Urban Outfitters and dark-washed jeggings.

Cleaning Up My Act

After looking at pictures of Audrey Hepburn's effortless style in the 50's, I realized today that I do not own one pair of flats! I always thought flats were so awkward, especially going to school in Boston there just never seemed to be "perfect flat weather." I used to overthink so much about when would be the perfect time to wear them that I just ended up never wearing them at all. But, the new year has given me a new outlook. There is never going to be a literal "perfect time" to wear something. The right time comes with confidence, and if you are confident then every time you wear an outfit will be the perfect time. I will no longer worry about what people are going to think about an outfit, and just wear it because it makes me happy. Fashion, after all, is an expression of self. So one of the first things I am going to do this year is buy a super cute pair of flats (those Chanel ones are amazing)and wear them whenever I want. Hope everyone had a great new years eve and happy new year to you all!

Winter Wardrobe: What I'm Wearing

I'm home for winter break and it is freezing here in D.C. Given this weather, I plan on being cute yet cozy while I run around and do some last minute Christmas shopping. Here's a look at what I'm wearing this break:

Chunky Knit Scarves (a must in this frigid weather)

Leopard Pumps (I just bought this pair from F21)

Oversized Sweaters (looks great with flats and heels)

Jeggings (at first I thought they were disgusting but they look better with boots and sweaters without the bulk of regular jeans)

American Apparel Leggings (the sheen on these leggings makes any outfit pop)

Cozy Cardigans

Lace Up Boots

Keep it Simple

Recently, I had to go to a semi formal event and found myself with nothing to wear. I usually wear dresses with some sort of embellishment and color because I love to stand out lol. But, this winter I have been drawn to the little black dress. I bought this lace dress over the summer and it is one of my new favorites for this time of year. There is nothing sexier than a simple chic look that doesn't look like you're trying too hard. I was so against the black dress because I thought it looked like a funeral ensemble, but now I am a believer!

Blame Game

The piano melody on this song is amazing. Although I could REALLY REALLY do without Chris Rock at the end. I think he throws the whole song off with his vulgarity. Anyway...check it out.
